Welcome to our website!! This website serves the primary purpose of keeping the members of our local union up-to-date and informed. Furthermore, it can serve as a medium to deliver information to members of the public as well as other labor organizations and Fire Departments. Our goal is to maintain the most accurate information possible and to give our membership an area to interact with all aspects of our Union. Please feel free to explore around. There is a photo gallery with pictures of our members in action during emergencies and non-emergency situations. Don’t forget to sign our guest book and drop us a message or two! We also now have a Facebook page to stay updated with our fellow Unions and friends abroad.
The Lathrop Manteca Firefighters currently have 34 general members and 2 associate members. We were one of the founding members of San Joaquin County Firefighters Local 1243, and chartered our own local in 2003. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, we are active in numerous fundraising activities and community events. We try to be involved in the community in all different aspects.
In addition to the IAFF, we are active members of the California Professional Firefighters (CPF), the California Labor Council (CLC), and the California Fire Fighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee (CFFJAC).
The Lathrop Manteca Fire District serves approximately 25,000 residents within a 100 square mile radius. The district covers Lathrop City proper and the rural area encircling the City of Manteca. We also border South County Fire Authority (Tracy), French Camp Fire, Montezuma Fire, Ripon Fire, and Sharpe Depot. The District is managed by a 5 member fire board elected at large to four-year terms.
